The design originates from the Adirondack mountain region north of New York. The chairs feature a slanted backrest and deep seat, inviting pure relaxation.

Today, the Adirondack chair fits just as beautifully into Nordic gardens, on wooden terraces and by summer houses by the water – places where time is allowed to pass a little more slowly.

The story behind Adirondack
A CINAS CLASSIC
It’s a long story...
But the short version is that the idea came when the family behind Cinas received a few chairs as a gift from good friends in Canada.
They thought we simply had to try such chairs.
However, the chairs had to be flown home – and they do take up some space – so, honestly, enthusiasm was not very high at first.
But one evening, as we sat in them with a drink on the armrest, we were sold.
We reinterpreted the American classic into a Nordic version – and we’ve been selling it since 2006.

The footstool is more than just an addition – it completes the Adirondack chair experience.
It is made from the same solid materials as the chair in the collection and features the same soft lines, inviting you to stretch your legs and fully relax.
The design follows the language of the chair, so the whole feels natural and balanced. Together, the two pieces become a little sanctuary – a place you want to return to again and again.
The footstool can also be used alone, as an extra seat or low bench when flexibility is needed.
